Universal Studios Orlando, Fla. – The night show at Universal Studios Orlando is back! If you have been to Universal recently, you can’t help but to notice a lot is going on around the Lagoon. The construction has been feverishly underway as the park prepares the lagoon for its soon to be new nighttime show.
Featuring colorful fountains, projections, and pyrotechnic effects, guest will again have something to enjoy around the lagoon during the evening hours.
Sounding very similar to the ones featured at a few of the Disney Parks down the road, it is rumored Universal could be going above and beyond and include projection mapping and maybe even drones. However, at this time I do not yet have confirmation of those elements, or do I see any new permits filed.
The Night Show on The Lagoon
These permit images below will give you an idea on the full scope of the project.
The scale of this project is both above and below the water.
Over 100 water jets and effects fill the underwater stage.
Below is a 3D model of how guest will be able to enjoy the lagoon show. There will be levels for visitors to stand at, hopefully to help with more visibility.
Although Universal has been tight lipped about the content of the show/shows, they have said that it “will include new animation”. Featuring characters from “favorite Universal attractions, with a new storyline, new music, lighting and special effects.” With all the new technology, Universal says it will take the old show, Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular, “to an entirely new level.” Designers and engineers didn’t disappoint us with The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts™ Castle so we are excited to see what they have planned for Universal Studios new Night time feature. As of now the expected show opening is for Summer 2018.
