Take a flight over Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Disney Imagineers Headquarters– Are you ready to take a flight? In a Galaxy Far Far Away….Well, maybe not exactly. But if anyone could bring us closer to an immersive Star Wars experience without having to leave Earth, its Disney!  With an opening date of sometime in 2019, the anticipation is definitely growing, and I can see why. So let’s take a flight over Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

The Experience

At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests will be transported to the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes. Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two attractions that take detail and immersion to the next level.

  • The famous “chess room” is one of several areas Disney guests will discover inside Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge before taking the controls in one of three unique and critical roles aboard the fastest ship in the galaxy.

The Land Will Feature Marketplaces & New Toys

Imagineers looked to the exotic markets of Istanbul and Marrakech for inspiration for the land’s marketplace, where guests can explore a rich collection of shops and merchant stalls. One stall will be overseen by a Toydarian, a creatures fans first encountered on Tatooine in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” Here, guests will be able to discover all kinds of fun toys straight out of the Star Wars galaxy.
