Clearwater Jazz Holiday Includes Tribute To Prince

Clearwater, Fla. – The Bay area is no stranger to great music. And for over 38 years The Clearwater Jazz Holiday has been bringing us just that. Well, this years Clearwater Jazz Holiday lineup will be one for the books! From Woody Herman to Bela Fleck, Tito Puentte to Kenny Loggins the long time festival has given locals some big names. This year is no different.   The non-profit event organizers work all year long with promoters and acts from across the country.  What they have announced for the 2018 multi-day event lineup reminds us why it is one of the areas more popular music festivals.

The Clearwater Jazz Holiday will feature “A night celebrating Prince”

On Friday, a performance led by proteges Sheila E. and Morris Day and the Time will take the stage.

The lineup

The Doobie Brothers, George Thorogood and the Destroyers and JJ Grey and Mofro. They’ll be joined by Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers, the Devil Makes Three, the Lao Tizer Band and more.

Daily Schedule

  • Thursday, Oct. 18: George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers, two more acts TBA
  • Friday, Oct. 19: Morris Day and the Time, Sheila E., Danny Kusz, Betty Fox Brass Band
  • Saturday, Oct. 20: The Doobie Brothers; the Lao Tizer band featuring Chieli Minucci, Karen Briggs and Nelson Rangel; more TBA
  • Sunday, Oct. 21: JJ Grey and Mofro, the Devil Makes Three, Ruth Eckerd Hall/Clearwater Jazz Holiday Youth Jazz Band, more TBA **Tickets to the 2018 Clearwater Jazz Holiday start at $20 in advance and go on sale at noon today. Kids under 12 get in free.

With the Sunshine state having  240 days of sunny days, you can always find live music, local festivals and some awesome community markets going on around Florida.
